Eva Thorarinsdottir
Eva was born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1986 and has been playing violin since the age of 3. Eva studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music with Maciej Rakowski. She continued to study with Maciej at the Royal Northern College of Music, and won the Concerto Prize, performing Shostakovich Violin Concerto No 1. Every year she performs at the prestigious Settimani Musicali di Stresa in Italy.
In May 2010 Eva performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor with the Manchester Camerata and shortly afterwards graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with an International Artist Diploma in solo performance. Since then, Eva has continued to perform recitals throughout the UK, most recently collaborating with Alina Ibragimova at the Manchester International Festival.
Eva plays on an 1845 Joseph Rocca violin.
