Auditions
When applying to the College, applicants are given the opportunity to inform the College of any special requirements needed for the audition. Reasonable adjustments are put in place for the applicant’s audition.
Offer of a place to study
On acceptance of an offer of a place applicants are provided with further information about the College and its facilities, including a medical form. MMUS and MPHIL applicants are also provided with certain details of the programme arrangements and timetable. The applicant can inform the RNCM of any disability or medical condition. The halls of residence also offer ground floor and suitable rooms for students with disabilities. The College will put reasonable adjustments in place for the applicant.
Joining instructions
The RNCM provides an information pack with joining instructions during the summer. This includes a disability declaration form, information regarding the RNCM’s Personal Learning Plan and application information for DSA.
Personal Learning Plan
Soon after registration a Personal Learning Plan is produced for students who have disclosed a disability identifying additional support needs. This states clearly the responsibilities of the student and staff in the learning environment.
Student Support Tutor
The Student Support Tutor is able to assist students in meeting the demands of their programmes of study.
Note takers for students with dyslexia
After diagnostic testing some students are offered note takers to assist in their programmes of study. This is financially supported by a student’s DSA.
IT facilities
The ground floor IT studio includes special facilities for the disabled. A copy of the RNCM's disability statement is available from Jane Gray, Student Welfare Administrator, T 0161 907 5219 or E
