Want a rest from ‘too much tinsel’ syndrome? This concert definitely fits the bill, with ancient and spell-binding Christmas songs ringing with echoes of winter pagan festivities.

Together with Irish harpist Jean Kelly, Irish/ Geordie singer Mick Sands and string player Clare Salaman, Joglaresa perform a whole host of vibrant traditional and medieval carols and songs. From ‘dark’ ancient English songs, including variations of the Corpus Christi and Falcon carols and The Burning Babe, to the group’s own re-workings of better-known carols such as The Coventry Carol, The Wexford Carols and the Irish air and hornpipe Christmas Eve, this unique ensemble is sure to be the perfect alternative Christmas night out.
