Music, Identity and Social Interaction Conference
2-3 February 2010
This international conference provided a unique forum for researchers, practioners, and musicians wishing to explore the growing body of research on music and identity construction, through the analysis of spoken interaction. Empirical and theoretical papers were presented that discussed the collection and analysis of talk in a variety of musical contexts. The conference welcomed existing researchers in the field, as well as those who wished to learn more about this important area of work. Forty seven delegates from the UK, Australia, Sweden, Finland, Cyprus, Portugal, Norway and Poland attended the conference.

The Performer’s Voice: An International Forum for Music Performance and Scholarship

The RNCM will collaborate with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University Singapore and the Peabody Institute, Johns Hopkins University in this event, which will be hosted by Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music: Asia’s International Conservatory. More information.
