Alumna Kathryn Chosen for BBC New Generation Scheme

RNCM alumna Kathryn Rudge has been selected as a BBC New Generation Artist 2015-17.

Launched in 1999, the New Generation Artist Scheme is designed to support young musicians who are embarking on an international career to reach the next stage of their development by offering performance and broadcast opportunities.

Each autumn up to seven artists or groups on the threshold of an international career are invited to join the scheme, which offers them unique opportunities to develop their talents. These include concerts around the UK, appearances with the BBC performing groups, studio recordings for Radio 3, and the possibility of appearing at the BBC Proms.

Since graduating in 2011 mezzo-soprano Kathryn, a former Times Rising Star in Classical Music and YCAT artist, has performed leading roles with Glyndebourne on Tour and Opera North, and is currently singing the role of Rosina in ENO’s production of The Barber of Seville.
