The Postgraduate Diploma programme provides students with advanced level musical training to a professional level in performance. The course offers a flexible approach to learning through a wide range of vocational options which complement Principal Study tuition and corporate performance activities, all of which prepare you for the demends of the music profession.
The programme comprises 120 credits consists of two strands:
Principal Study tuition (60 credits), which is delivered through intensive ono-to-one sessions, masterclasses, group classes, lectures and workshops.
Options (60 credits), which include a significant choice of specialisms to enable you to develop a portfolio of practical, vocational and research-based areas of activity relevant to your own professional development. Chamber music, operatic excerpts, orchestral experience, lecture recital, performance: theory and practice, and preparation for research options in musicology and music psychology.

If you are considering the Postgraduate Diploma and the Master of Music, you do not need to make two separate applications – you should only make one application (and pay one audition fee and attend one audition). You can discuss your course options with the audition panel if necessary and change your course choice later. The final outcome will also depend on the academic assessment.
