Young Strings Open Days
Come along to one of our Open Days to find out more about RNCM Young Strings, an integrated approach to music teaching for children aged 5-12 years
RNCM Young Strings aims to help pupils become confident, expressive musicians, who have a deep understanding of all the elements of music. Our approach integrates instrumental, musicianship and ensemble training.
Upcoming Open Days
Thursday 19 April 2018, 4-6.30pm – RNCM
- For children aged 8-12 years, who are already learning a bowed string instrument. Your child will join our young musicians in a musicianship workshop and take part in an ensemble rehearsal for the evening.
Saturday 28 April 2018, 9.30-11am – MMU, Brooks Building
- For children 4 – 5 years old (interested in joining our pre-instrumental year in September).
- For children 5 – 6 years old (interested in beginning to learn a stringed instrument in September).
- For children 6 – 7 years old (already playing a stringed instrument and interested in joining our programme).
Watch a performance by some of the Young Strings children and take part in a workshop led by one of our expert musicianship tutors. This will involve singing, musical games and movement.
