Liverpool born mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge graduated in 2011 and within 12 months had secured principal roles with English National Opera, Glyndebourne and Opera North.
The 29-year-old is currently a BBC New Generation Artist (a scheme established to support talented young musicians from all over the world), and was recently nominated for a Royal Philharmonic Society Music Award.
The RNCM is so special to me because it will always be the place I began discovering and developing music and singing whilst working towards a professional career – it is such a supportive environment to do this in. I am thrilled to become one its first Honorary Associate Artists and it will be a great pleasure to work in an ambassadorial role and to collaborate with RNCM students and staff on future development projects. – Kathryn Rudge
