Deputy Sound and Video Manager

Salary Grade: Salary Grade 6A, scale points 24 - 27, £26,829 - £29,301 per annum

We are seeking a competent, enthusiastic and suitably-qualified Deputy Sound and Video Manager to provide of a wide range of broadcast, recording, sound and video services, both in relation to the academic teaching provision and also covering activities in the College’s public performance venues (including meeting the needs of visiting hirers).

The Deputy Sound and Video Manager has specific responsibility for managing the technical requirements of the College’s Popular Music Course. Liaising frequently with the Head of Popular Music and the course administrator, the post holder will research, specify and select equipment for the course, together with managing Sound and Video team members in connection with course activities.

As a team leader the post-holder is responsible for ensuring that their team provides the highest standard of customer service, meeting (or exceeding) the needs and expectations of users of the service, and that all relevant activity within the College (and external venues when required) is correctly supported. The Deputy Sound and Video Manager is also responsible for helping to ensure that all College audio-visual / pa / sound / recording / video equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

The post holder must be able to lift and carry equipment and be able to cope with working to a busy schedule. In addition, the post holder must be flexible, as the role demands the working of some unsocial hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays in order to meet the needs of the service operation.
