MIS Developer

Salary Grade: Grade 6a, SCP 24 to 27 £ 28,756 to £ 31,406 per annum

The College is seeking an MIS Developer within the fast paced, innovative Business Systems and Data Unit (BSDU), to provide ongoing development, maintenance support of the College‘s core centralised information systems with a focus on student systems.

You will also be a proactive member of the Student Information Management System (SIMS) replacement project team; assisting in analysing and prioritising requirements, the development and configuration of desktop and web applications, system configuration and user acceptance testing.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to demonstrate a methodical approach to problem solving, and be confident patient communicator.  It is a role where collaboration and non-technical communication are as crucial as technical aptitude. You will be liaising with stakeholders and working across a range of technologies and systems to deliver solutions that meet evolving business requirements.

Key Skills and Experience should include:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • NET (C# / VB)
  • SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS)
  • Development Environments (Visual Studio and SSMS)
  • Developing data /application integration solutions
  • Translating business processes into functional requirements
  • Communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience

Experience of working with Unit-e Student System would be highly advantageous. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills on the job, given time and space to undertake relevant training courses.
