PRiSM Centre Manager

Salary Grade: Grade 6b, SCP 28 to 31, currently £31,302 to £34,189 per annum (pending review)

This role is a full time, 3-year fixed term contract commencing as soon as possible after 1 October 2019.

The RNCM is seeking to appoint a Centre Manager to join its ground-breaking interdisciplinary research centre PRiSM, the RNCM Centre for Practice & Research in Science & Music.

Launched in October 2017, PRiSM brings together researchers and practitioners in composition, performance, mathematics, artificial intelligence, music perception and big data to engage in creative research collaborations between the sciences and music. The RNCM was recently awarded £914,000 from Research England’s prestigious E3 fund to expand excellence within PRiSM and this is a new role that builds on this success.

The post-holder will be responsible for the overall coordination and day to day management of PRiSM. They will take a lead in proactively shaping, developing, organising and realising PRiSM creative collaborations and events, and seeking to raise the profile of PRiSM nationally and internationally. Based in a flourishing and highly successful Research environment, the post-holder will work closely with the Director of PRiSM and with a number of departments across the college, in particular, with Research, Marketing, Finance and Performance and Programming.

The post will suit an experienced and ambitious manager and/or researcher with a strong track record of successful project management and partnership liaison, excellent creative writing, interpersonal, evaluation and team-working skills, and a keen attention to detail. The post-holder will have a desire to lead and develop creative interdisciplinary research collaborations and events, working alongside leading researchers. PRiSM is a young dynamic research group that is committed, energetic and passionate about interdisciplinary research between the creative arts and the sciences and the potential for this research to make a real contribution to society.
