We regret that Toumani Diabaté has withdrawn from all of his 25 European and UK concerts scheduled in 2017/18, including this concert at the RNCM on Sat 04 Nov. However, we are delighted to confirm that renowned Iranian Kamanche virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor will still perform at the RNCM on Sat 04 Nov with a revised programme. All tickets are still valid for entry to this event should you still wish to attend.
We are contacting all tickets holders for this concert to advise of the change of programme. If you have any concerns please contact the RNCM Box Office on 0161 907 5555.
The Iranian Kamanche virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor is one of the internationally best known exponents of Persian and Kurdish music. He has not only played concerts with the legendary Persian singers Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri, but has also become known to international audiences through his collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra or the film-maker Francis Ford Copolla.
Kayhan Kalhor loves to collaborate and encounter musicians from other traditions. Thus he has worked with Indian musicians, performed together with the Azerbaijani singer Alim Qasimov at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück and has played for many years with the Turkish Baglama virtuoso Erdal Erzincan.
