RNCM Concert Hall

Doors 7pm, stage time to be confirmed.

Featuring Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar and Donald ‘DJ’ Johnson on drums, Khruangbin’s sound is rooted in the deepest waters of world music infused with classic soul, dub and psychedelia.

Their début album The Universe Smiles Upon You was heavily influenced by 60s and 70s Thai cassettes the band listened to on their long car journeys to rehearsals in the Texan countryside. Their new album Con Todo El Mundo, released in January, takes inspiration not just from South East Asia but also the funk and soul of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, particularly Iran.

The band has toured tirelessly for the last couple of years, including a European tour with Father John Misty, a support slot with Maribou State at Koko plus a string of festival dates at Glastonbury, SXSW, Love International, The Great Escape and The Downs with Massive Attack.

Age restriction 14+ and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-theatre dining is available before this event between 5pm and 7.30pm.
