One half of pioneering electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant has released 13 studio albums over four decades and is one of Britain’s most witty and playful lyricists. In this special Manchester Literature Festival event chaired by poet Andrew McMillan (Playtime, Physical), Neil discusses the art of lyric-writing, the joy of telling stories, his literary and musical influences, bringing politics and history into pop music, his collaborations with artists from David Bowie and Dusty Springfield to Derek Jarman, and his debut book One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem.
