Vibraphonist and composer Victor Mendoza, a Mexico native, is a leading international artist in the Latin jazz and world percussion spheres. This session focusses on expanding the creative palette, a look at alternative practice approaches for developing improvisation and performance vocabulary in mallet performance. This will include an overview of modal and rhythmic examples as found in Latin jazz, Brazilian and Mediterranean music. Participation is encouraged!
