Thursday Lunchtimes: RNCM Wind, Brass & Percussion Ensembles
Thursday 12 January 2023, 1.15pm
RNCM Concert Hall

Our students, staff, and visiting artists perform alongside one another in our weekly Thursday lunchtime concert series. Drop in during your lunch break and enjoy the best of ensemble music in the heart of Manchester.
We’re delighted to showcase our School of Wind, Brass, and Percussion in this lunchtime concert. A highlight of the afternoon features our staff and students performing Ruth Gipps’ Seascape. Scored for ten wind players, Gipps was inspired by the sounds of the sea in Kent and wrote it in 1958 for the Portia Ensemble, founded by Gipps herself and made up entirely of women.
