Exotic Vapour: Works for Solo and Duo

Made in Manchester Final 50

Made in Manchester is a three-day festival celebrating the amazing breadth of new music created at the RNCM by our staff and students, past and present.

Enjoy the intimacy of new music for solo and duo instruments with works written by our staff and students. Described as ‘a deep concern for the human and the raw power of sound’ by BBC Music Magazine, the evening opens with Emily Howard’s Threnos for two voices. The musical journey continues through an eclectic mix of sounds for solo piano, viola and harp, tenor saxophone, and cello and percussion, before reaching an exuberant finish with Paul Patterson’s virtuosic work for solo violin, Luslawice Variations, inspired by Polish folk music
