About

Our annual Children’s Opera is an RNCM flagship project and sees 150 children from our four local schools performing alongside over 100 RNCM students in a fully-staged new production written by the children and composer Kate Pearson. This year’s exciting production is based inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s beloved Treasure Island.

Set sail with the children on a sweeping adventure as young Jim and Susie Hawkins and their friends are thrust into a world of danger, betrayal, and discovery. When a hidden treasure map falls into their hands, the children find themselves aboard a ship teeming with colourful characters — valiant allies and ruthless pirates alike. Among them is the enigmatic Annie Silver, whose cunning charm masks a thirst for power that threatens to upend everything.

An unforgettable retelling of a classic tale, our operatic adaption captures the thrill of adventure and reveals the timeless quest of searching for the things that truly matter in life.
