RNCM Strings Day: Mozart & Puccini
RNCM Strings Day celebrates staff, students, and visiting international artists performing side-by-side in an exhilarating day of string music and collaboration.
This concert sees our Head and Deputy Head of Strings lead students in an intriguing programme of music. More commonly known for his operas, listeners may recognise themes from Puccini’s quartet Crisantemi from Acts III and IV of his opera Manon Lescaut where he reworked this piece for some of the opera’s most poignant moments.
Other highlights include a more light-hearted moment with Mozart’s Divertimento for strings in F major and music for solo violin by RNCM International Tutor in Violin and one of the day’s headline guest-artists, Ning Feng.
Programme to include:
Giacomo Puccini Crisantemi
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Divertimento for strings in F major K 138/125c
Music for solo violin by J S Bach and Eugène Ysaÿe
Chris Hoyle, Catherine Yates directors
Ning Feng solo violin
