The Frederic Cox Award for Singing
Finalists from the School of Vocal Studies and Opera perform their own selection of songs and arias in this prestigious annual award.

Principal of the Royal Manchester College of Music from 1953 – 1970, he then joined the newly established RNCM as a vocal tutor before passing away in 1985. Frederic taught a number of singers who went on to have acclaimed careers, including Anne Howells, Elizabeth Harwood, Rosalind Plowright, and Ann Murray.
