Artistic Programme

The RNCM’s artistic programme powers every element of the College’s work.

It provides a platform for our exceptional young musicians, brings the most exciting professional performers to audiences across the north, provides opportunities for our students’ creativity and innovation to shine, and enables people of all ages to explore and enjoy the very best music-making.

No other UK conservatoire offers a live music programme of this breadth and depth and it is for this reason that it holds such an important place in our students’ education and plays such a vital role in the region’s arts and culture scene. According to the most recent Performing Rights’ Society survey, the RNCM is the North West’s busiest live music venue and the seventh busiest in the UK. Quite simply, there are few better places to immerse yourself in musical performance.

Yet unlike other comparable music and arts venues, the RNCM does not receive public subsidy specifically to support its artistic programme and ticket sales alone do not cover its significant costs. To continue to offer a programme as rich, diverse and high quality as we currently do, we must therefore seek support. By donating to our artistic programme, the RNCM can continue to be one of the most dynamic centres for exceptional live music-making, inspiring our audiences and students for many years to come.
