Two singers on stage for a production of L'amour des Trois Oranges. One is chancing the other against a bright background featuring a wonky house.

At the RNCM, we are firmly committed to reducing our carbon footprint and playing our part in building a more sustainable future.

We are proud of the progress we’ve made so far, but we recognise there is still much more to do. As we continue this important journey, one of the most effective steps we can take is to reduce the volume of printed programmes and freesheets produced each season.

To support this, we recently transitioned away from mass‑produced, single‑use print for the majority of our events and instead provide online programmes featuring the most up‑to‑date event information. Many of our concerts now also open with personal introductions from RNCM students and staff, offering insights into the repertoire and a chance to connect more closely with our community.

Where printed materials remain necessary – such as for RNCM Opera productions and end‑of‑term showcases – we design and print them carefully and responsibly, using limited resources, with an online version available for anyone who wishes to support our sustainability goals.

We welcome feedback from all audience members and extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported this mission so far. QR codes are available throughout the building to take you directly to programme pages, and we aim to publish all online programme information at least 24 hours before each scheduled event.
