Impact
We know that music transforms lives. We see it every day in the next generation of professional musicians we nurture at the start of their journey, in our work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences across the region, and through the international partnerships, projects, and initiatives that enrich our students’ learning, broaden their horizons, and help drive the future of our industry.
Our commitment to cultural, economic, and societal impact extends well beyond the RNCM itself. In Greater Manchester, we hold seats on the Civic University Board, the Oxford Road Corridor Board (Manchester’s Innovation District), and the boards of our local Music Education Hubs, helping to shape regional strategies that place music, arts, and culture at the heart of economic growth. Internationally, we lead two established networks of world-leading conservatoires and are the only UK member of the prestigious European Chamber Music Academy, strengthening collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation across the global music sector.
Through international partnerships, cultural exchange, and global advocacy, we help position Manchester as a destination for creative excellence, connecting people, ideas, and opportunities across borders.
