Alumnus Awarded LA Philharmonic Dudamel Fellowship

RNCM alumnus Jamie Phillips is one of three conductors chosen by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to participate in the 2015/16 Dudamel Fellowship Programme.

Established in 2009 by Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, the Programme provides a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorships and participation in the orchestra’s education and community programmes.

Dudamel said: ‘As the seventh year of this program approaches, I feel very proud to work with these young, exceptional conductors from throughout the world. The LA Phil’s commitment to nurture the talent of future generations with firsthand training is a special opportunity that helps each of the Fellows realise his full potential.’

Jamie, who graduated in 2013, was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Hallé earlier this year, just weeks after being signed to Intermusica for worldwide general management. He now has the opportunity to work with Dudamel and musicians from the LA Philharmonic on an individual Fellowship programme.
