A celebration of the Royal Northern College of Music
On Wednesday 4 September HRH The Duchess of Kent, RNCM President Emeritus, hosted an evening of celebration at London’s historic St James’s Palace.
Over 90 guests arrived at the stunning venue to enjoy a drinks reception and three course meal, interspersed with music from current students and alumni, including a special appearance by RNCM President Sir John Tomlinson.
Professor Linda Merrick, Principal, said: ‘The RNCM has been at the forefront of music education for almost 50 years and is recognised internationally as one of the world’s most outstanding and forwarding thinking conservatoires. It was an honour to celebrate our achievements with friends old and new, and to offer them an intimate glimpse into our exciting and dynamic world. I would like to take this opportunity to thank HRH The Duchess of Kent personally for hosting so graciously what was a truly wonderful evening, and Sir John Tomlinson, Abel Selaocoe, James Hendry, Molly Barker, James Cooke and Ruth Owens for performing for us.’
