Adam MacKenzie joins School of Wind, Brass and Percussion
Our School of Wind, Brass and Percussion welcomes Adam MacKenzie, Principal Bassoon with the Orchestra of Opera North, to its team of tutors next term.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Adam has studied in Milan (Accademia del Teatro alla Scala) with Valentino Zucchiatti and with Dag Jensen in Hanover before embarking on a freelance career as a chamber and orchestral musician and music educator.
Alongside his position with the Orchestra of Opera North, Adam is a tutor at Chetham’s School of Music and Director of Education for English Sinfonia and Brandenburg Sinfonia, devising and delivered composition projects throughout the country with seasoned professionals and non-musicians.
The School is also pleased to announce that Gábor Varga, the RNCM’s current International Visiting Tutor in Clarinet, has accepted a regular Visiting Tutor role at the College, offering students more opportunities to benefit from his expertise and guidance throughout the year.
