Alum wins Australian National Piano Award

Alum Oliver She has won the 2018 Australian National Piano Award.

The 27-year-old, who graduated in 2016, walked away with $27,000 following Saturday’s final, plus a $5,000 bursary for further career development and a $1,000 special prize.

Held every two years in Shepparton, Victoria, the Award represents a true test of artistic talent and technical mastery in the world of classical piano. It’s open to pianists aged between 21 and 35, with 14 competing for the top honour, national recognition, concert engagements and $68,000 in cash and prizes.

Alongside Oliver, the competition also included fellow 2016 alum Jeremy So, who also secured a $5,000 special prize.
