Alumna Competes in BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competion

RNCM and Junior RNCM graduate, Katherine Broderick is currently representing England in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

The soprano, who graduated in 2004 after completing a BMus degree, performed O Sachs! Mein Freund from Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg and Tatyana's Letter Scene  from Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin in the second of four preliminary concerts  last night. Over the course of the week, five singers with the highest marks from all four concerts will take part in Sunday’s final.

The prestigious competition – held at St David’s Hall and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama – features 20 singers of different nationalities and is judged by a panel including internationally renowned singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
