Alumna Nominated for South Bank Award

The RNCM is delighted to announce that alumna Elizabeth Llewellyn has been nominated for The Times South Bank Breakthrough Award.

Forming part of the annual South Bank Sky Arts Awards announced on 12 March, the Breakthrough Awards include the finest in British talent across various aspects of the arts. Elizabeth, a soprano who graduated in 1995, was set for a promising career, but illness prompted her to leave music and spend 10 years working in IT. After she returned to opera in 2009 when she completed a training programme with ENO Opera Works, she went on to forge a strong career, taking principal roles with Opera Holland Park (Fiordiligi Cosí fan tutte) and English National Opera (Mimi La Bohème, Micaela Carmen).
