Alumnus Wins International Piano Competition
Alumnus Alexander Panfilov has won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition based in Monza, Italy.
The 2016 graduate was one of 32 pianists competing in the biannual competition, which included three preliminary rounds before the grand final on Saturday 24 September.
Alexander, a pupil of Graham Scott whose success to date include 2015 Hastings and 2016 Jaén International Piano Competitions, secured the win thanks to an outstanding performance of Beethoven’s Concerto No 5. His First Prize included 15,000 euros and performance opportunities.
