The recording completes Tsenov’s three-volume project documenting the complete solo piano works of Bulgarian composer Ľubomir Pipkov (1904–1974), helping to bring wider international attention to a body of work that has remained largely overlooked outside Bulgaria.

In a four-star review, BBC Music Magazine praised both the recording and the repertoire. Reviewer Erik Levi described the series as “impeccably documented and finely performed”, noting that “given their quality of invention, it’s surprising this cycle is not better known.”

The final volume includes Pipkov’s 22 Variations, Prelude (In Memoriam Chopin), Youth Collection, a selection of miniatures, and works by his father, Panayot Pipkov. In the review, Levi highlighted the originality and variety of the music, particularly the Youth Collection, whose short character pieces recall the educational miniatures of Bartók’s Mikrokosmos.

The recognition in one of the world’s leading classical music publications marks a significant milestone for Tsenov’s recording project and its contribution to raising the profile of Pipkov’s piano music among international audiences.
