Grace Celebrates Handel’s Water Music with BBC Commission
Third year undergraduate composer, Grace Mason has been asked to write a piece celebrating the 300th anniversary of Handel’s Water Music for the BBC Proms.
A co-commission from the Proms and BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, the work is one of 30 premières to be performed during this year’s festival and will be broadcast live from London on 17 July. Following this, Grace, a pupil of Professor Gary Carpenter and Dr Emily Howard and former BBC Proms Inspire Young Composers’ Competition winner, will head to Stage@TheDock, Hull on 22 July, where the work will be performed Royal Northern Sinfonia as part of the BBC Proms At…series.
