Jamie Phillips is Hallé’s Associate Conductor

Congratulations to RNCM alumnus Jamie Phillips who has been appointed Associate Conductor of the Hallé following three years as Assistant Conductor.

Jamie, who graduated in 2013, will now conduct the Hallé in Manchester and around the country, and will continue to work closely with Music Director Sir Mark Elder. He also remains Music Director of the Hallé Youth Orchestra.

John Summers, Hallé Chief Executive, said: ‘We are delighted to continue our relationship with Jamie. He has flourished in his current role as Assistant Conductor and, at just 23 years old, has already achieved a great deal. We are very happy that he is able to remain part of the Hallé team and to be able to help him continue to develop his very special musical gifts.’

Jamie will take up the new position at the start of the Hallé’s 2015/16 season.
