Jess’ star-studded performance

Saxophonist Jess Gillam performed at the BAFTAs on Sunday 10 February.

Fresh from her Last Night of the Proms début, the third year undergraduate returned to the Royal Albert Hall to perform Love Story, commemorating those loved and lost in the film industry.

Ahead of the event, Jess said: ‘I’m really looking forward to performing at the BAFTAs. It’s a real honour to be asked to play at such a special event and it will be amazing to be back at the Royal Albert Hall again.’

Following her appearance, which took place in front of a star-studded audience, including The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Jess announced the release of her début album, Rise, on the Decca Classics label. And the good news hasn’t stopped there. Announced on Tuesday 12 February, the 20-year-old has also been shortlisted for Best Classical Artist at the Global Radio Awards.
