Laura Bowler wins RPS Award

Congratulations to RPS Award-winner Laura Bowler, and all RNCM alumni shortlisted for this year’s accolades.

Laura, an alumna and Tutor in Composition, won the Chamber-Scale Composition category with Wicked Pieces, her defiant warning about climate change. Fellow composer Mark Simpson, soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn and cellist Abel Selaocoe, who performed on the night, were also shortlisted.

Results were announced on Monday 1 November at a star-studded event at Wigmore Hall, celebrating the power and presence of classical music throughout the pandemic. A special Radio 3 broadcast is scheduled at 7.30pm on Monday 8 November.
