Leverhulme Trust awards RNCM significant grant
The RNCM has received a grant of £421,200 from the Leverhulme Trust to support Arts Scholarships at the College.
The significant award will provide invaluable financial assistance to exceptional undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as a number of young musicians within Junior RNCM.
Professor Linda Merrick, RNCM Principal, said: ‘We are immensely grateful to the Trust for this substantial grant. As the financial need of our students continues to grow, we understand how important support such as this is, not only for their education but for their health and wellbeing too. Being able to offer Leverhulme Arts Scholarships and Bursaries is one of the most impactful ways to ensure that we continue to nurture the next generation of professional musicians.’
The Leverhulme Trust was established in 1925 following the death of Lord Leverhulme, who left instruction for his estate to be used to support ‘scholarships for the purpose of research and education’. The Leverhulme Arts Scholarships are awarded to specialist institutions or registered charities to provide training opportunities across the fine and performing arts.
