Pathfinder shortlisted for second award
Congratulations once again to our Pathfinder team, shortlisted for their second award this month.
Following hot on the heels of their Times Higher Education Award nomination, the fantastic initiative, which supports young people aged 10 – 16 with financial, social and cultural barriers to progressing their musical talent, is also up for a Manchester Culture Award for the Promotion of Culture and Education.
Starting as a six month pilot in 2017, the innovative scheme quickly developed into a three-year programme in partnership with two Manchester Music Education Hubs and the BBC Philharmonic. This year 55 young people have benefited, with 13% of participants continuing their musical education at the RNCM and Chetham’s this September.
