Prizes for Chloé at international competition

Congratulations to alum Chloé van Soeterstède, winner of two prizes at the 2019 German Conductors’ Awards.

An international competition for young conductors, the Awards are organised by the German Music Council in partnership with the Cologne Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cologne Opera, the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne and the Symphonic Orchestra of broadcasting station WDR.

Chloé, who graduated in 2017, conducted a performance of Webern’s Six pieces for orchestra Op 6 to win a 5000 euros third prize and Rebecca Saunders’ Traces for chamber orchestra to secure a special prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music.
