Staff and Students Gather to Wish John a Happy Retirement

RNCM staff and students got together today to wish Professor John Miller all the best as he retires from his role as Head of the School of Wind, Brass and Percussion.

John joined the RNCM in 1998 as Director of Brass, before taking up the position of Deputy Head and then Head of the School of Wind, Brass and Percussion. During this time he’s become one of the College’s best-loved teachers, inspiring students and alumni, many of whom now hold leading positions in orchestras worldwide.

Professor Linda Merrick, Principal, said: ‘I would like to thank Professor Miller on behalf of the RNCM for his exemplary leadership of the School of Woodwind, Brass and Percussion and am delighted he will be remaining with us in a part-time capacity, continuing to provide inspirational teaching and coaching for our students and contributing to our research activities as we progress towards the next Research Excellence Framework exercise.’
