RNCM Acknowledged as World-Class

The RNCM is proud to have been recognised by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) as one of the world’s leading music conservatoires.

The only music conservatoire outside the capital to receive enhanced Institution-Specific Funding, the RNCM continues to develop its global reputation through the success of its current students and its esteemed alumni, and by attracting many of the world’s finest musicians to teach at the College. The additional funding awarded by HEFCE confirms the RNCM’s status as a world-class music educator and places the College within the elite group of leading international conservatoires.

Professor Linda Merrick, RNCM Principal, said ‘I am delighted that HEFCE has acknowledged the excellence in teaching, performance and musicianship that characterises everything we do at the RNCM. The increase in our funding, which will be in place until at least 2020, will enable us to continue to develop the next generation of world-class musicians. It will also position us to deliver our ambitious plans that will enhance still further the excellent experience already enjoyed by our highly talented students.’
