RNCM alumnus Dane Lam nominated in the 2018 International Opera Awards
Opera’s answer to the Oscars, the International Opera Awards honours outstanding achievement on stage, backstage and in the pit. This year, RNCM alumnus Dane Lam has received a nomination in the Best Newcomer category.
Chinese-Australian Conductor Dane made his debut at the age of 18 with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House. He’s since conducted numerous leading international opera companies and orchestras.
He is now Principal Conductor of China’s Xi’an Symphony Orchestra, having graduated from the RNCM in 2011, following a highly-successful Leverhulme Junior Fellowship in Conducting under Sir Mark Elder, Clark Rundell, and Mark Heron.
Congratulations also to Opera North, one of our highly-valued professional partners, who have been nominated in the best Opera Company category.
