RNCM Celebrates Gift from The Patron’s Fund

The RNCM has received a gift from The Patron’s Fund to help support the work of RNCM Young Company.

Forming part of RNCM Engage, RNCM Young Company is a talented musical theatre group offering everyone aged 13 to 18, regardless of ability or experience, the opportunity to work with industry professionals to improve acting, singing and dancing skills. The donation will go towards the group’s latest production, Singin’ in the Rain, presented in the RNCM Theatre in April.

Fiona Stuart, Head of Learning and Participation, said: ‘We are grateful to The Patron’s Fund for this generous donation. It will help us to continue the important work of training young performers from across the North West to fulfil their ambitions and follow careers within the performing arts.’

Sir Stuart Etherington, Chair of The Board of Trustees for The Patron’s Fund, said: ‘The Patron’s Fund is very pleased to be able to support the RNCM with its valuable work. The RNCM is among hundreds of organisations for which The Queen acts as a Patron, all making a difference to causes and communities throughout the UK and Commonwealth.’

The Patron’s Fund was established to acknowledge the work of charitable organisations for which Her Majesty, The Queen acts as a Patron, to mark her 90th birthday. Around £750,000 will be distributed between nearly 300 organisations throughout the UK and the Commonwealth, comprising of donations from a range of supporters, as well as the proceeds from The Patron’s Lunch, the event on the Mall last June, which was attended by RNCM staff members.
