New Year Honours for RNCM Governor, Alumnus and Honorary Members

An RNCM Governor, alumnus and two Honorary Members have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

Governor Carolyn Baxendale, who has been Head of Bolton Music Service since 2007, has been made an MBE for services to music and to the community in Bolton, with the same accolade also going to RMCM alumnus Peter Rose for services to musical education and conservation; Jean Oglesby, one of the College’s most loyal advocates and supporters who received Honorary Membership in 2014, has been awarded a CBE for services to philanthropy in the North West; 1999 Honorary Member, Norman Stoller CBE, former Chairman of Seton Healthcare (now SSL International), has been awarded a knighthood for philanthropic services.

Congratulations also go to Leslie East, former Chief Executive of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), who received an OBE for services to musicians and music education.
