RNCM is No 5 for music in QS University World Rankings

We are proud to share that the Royal Northern College of Music has been ranked No 5 for music in the QS University World Rankings, sharing the position with New York’s prestigious Julliard School.

The 2024 edition of QS features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas, with music making an appearance for the first time.

Professor Linda Merrick CBE, Principal, said: ‘This is a significant achievement for the RNCM and something that our staff and students are extremely proud of. The RNCM has always been recognised for its innovative approach to music education and performance, and we are all looking forward to seeing what the future holds as we continue to drive forward our industry with ambition and determination.’

Over 1500 institutions across 104 locations are included in QS, which is the only ranking of its kind to emphasise employability and sustainability.

Alongside our position for music, the RNCM also made the top 10 for performing arts, achieving a world ranking of No 8.
