Roberto Plano joins School of Keyboard Studies

We’re delighted to welcome renowned pianist Roberto Plano to our School of Keyboard Studies, commencing in September.

A multiple prize-winner, Roberto has performed extensively with leading orchestras worldwide, and has appeared as a featured recitalist at numerous high-profile festivals. He also has an extensive discography, having recorded critically acclaimed works under the Decca, Brilliant, Azica, Arktos, Sipario, DaVinci and Concerto labels.

Graham Scott, Head of Keyboard Studies, said: ‘It is with much pleasure that we welcome the outstanding Italian pianist Roberto Plano to our piano faculty at the RNCM. Roberto brings with him considerable performing and teaching experience having previously been a laureate of many important international piano competitions.  He has also made highly acclaimed recordings including one on the Decca label. His teaching credentials include having taught at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.’

One of the most sought-after teachers in America, Roberto studied at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, the Ecole ‘Cortot’ in Paris and the Lake Como Academy. He joined the Faculty of Boston University in 2016 and was appointed Associate Professor of Piano at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2018.
