Henning Kraggerud
International Chair in Violin
Norwegian musician Henning Kraggerud officially joined the College in 2015 as International Chair in Violin.
Born in Oslo in the early 1970s, Henning is recognised as one of Norway’s most outstanding international artists. A violinist and violist of the highest calibre, he regularly performs on the world’s most prestigious concert platforms, and with some of the most important orchestras, conductors and soloists.
He is also a composer (his most recent work, Equinox: 24 Postludes in All Keys for Violin and String Orchestra, was premiered last year) and holds the positions of Co-Artistic Director of the Risør Festival of Chamber Music, Artistic Director of the Arctic Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, and Professor at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo.
