Renowned pianist and Oscar-nominated film composer Hauschka returns to the RNCM to perform his new recording, A Different Forest. His style changes with every album he releases and this time, he does away with his customary instrumental preparations to return to the pure piano.
The central theme of the album is the experience of nature as the basis for his understanding of life and the composition of music. And for Hauschka, the concept of nature is epitomised by the image of a forest.
Hauschka has had a productive decade, working on projects in the fields of theatre, dance and classical ensemble works. In recent years, he has built a prolific career writing scores for films, including his soundtrack for the 2016 hit Lion, scored in collaboration with Dustin O’Halloran. This year, he also wrote the music for the new US mini-series Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
This is one of just three dates on this UK tour.
