We’re thrilled to celebrate the work of American composer Julia Perry as part of our In Focus series. We’ll be delving into her remarkable life and catalogue of music across a week of performances and talks.

We welcome Professor of Singing Michael Harper to share his research and insight into the life and works of composer Julia Perry followed by a live performance of her solo and chamber works. In 2021, Michael was one of seven researchers awarded a grant by BBC Radio 3 and the Arts and Humanities Research Council to celebrate work of ethnically diverse composers from history. Learn more.
