For the latest in our RNCM Young Explorers series, we look yonder to the big blue sea (and some of the scary and exciting things we might find above and below the waves…) You just have to hear the first few notes of John Williams’ iconic score and you’ll remember the first time you saw the dreaded shark fin rise out of the water in a darkened cinema… Moving forward through cinematic history, today you’ll also hear music that acted as a thrilling backdrop for the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow and his swashbuckling pirate crew. And to round off this salty adventure, the Sailor’s Hornpipe will also make an appearance – recognised by all generations as the Blue Peter theme tune!

Our Young Explorers concerts are a brilliant way to introduce children to family-friendly, relaxed performances of classical music. So watch out for marauding pirates!

Suitable for ages 4 and above
