Photo of Tredegar Town BandOpening their programme with a world première, Tredegar Town Band take to the stage with young composer Jude Radley’s Momentum before introducing their soloist, German trumpeter Matthias Höfs. Hailed as a pioneering spirit, Höfs unmatched virtuosity coupled with his zest for experimentation make his performances a truly unforgettable experience. He is an influential figure in the brass world and has been lead trumpet with German Brass for close to four decades.

Together, he and Tredegar will bring to life two pieces by jazz musician and film composer Wolf Kerschek, Balkan Children’s Dance and Spanish Moods. In between, they perform a piece by featured composer Oliver Waespi. Finally, in a thought-provoking close, Tredegar perform Ludovic Neurohr’s musical treatise on the compass of moral decision making, Are We Dark Inside?, in the second work by the Swiss composer at this year’s festival.
